Onscryn vs
Thinfinity Workspace.
Thinfinity Workspace, from Cybele Software, is a software product you install yourself to give people browser access to Windows desktops and applications. Onscryn is a service built around the same idea. They overlap on the browser, and differ mainly in how much you assemble and run.
| Onscryn | Thinfinity Workspace | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A managed service: enroll a Windows host, publish an app, share a link | Software you install on your own Windows machines |
| Browser access | A link in a browser tab, nothing installed | An HTML5 browser, with no plug-ins, per Cybele's getting-started guide |
| Components | Hosts run an agent. Sign-in, policy and streaming are run for you | Per Cybele's guide: a reverse gateway, a broker and a virtualization server, which you install and run |
| Inbound access | The host's agent connects outward to Onscryn | Per Cybele's guide, only the gateway needs an inbound port (443), and the broker connects to it through an outbound channel |
| Sign-in | SSO over OIDC and SAML (plan-dependent), roles, instant revocation | SAML, OAuth and RADIUS per their guide, and TOTP or Duo for MFA per their documentation |
| Clipboard and files | Allow or block each, per app and per organization, enforced at the broker | Documented controls exist, such as disabling the clipboard in a session profile. Check their documentation for specifics |
| Recording | Per app or organization, replayed frame for frame (Beta, plan-dependent) | Documentation includes a session recording section. Check it for details |
| Automation | UI-tree workflows and a Copilot (preview) built in | Check their documentation |
| Licensing | Windows and your own software still need licences. We go through it with you | Check Cybele's current licensing. Windows Server and any RDS licensing for your hosts still apply |
Choose Thinfinity if
- You want software you deploy and run yourself, on your own servers, with the control that brings.
- You are comfortable operating a gateway, a broker and a virtualization server.
- Your setup is already built around the Windows Server and RDS stack it works with.
Choose Onscryn if
- You would rather not install and run the gateway, broker and servers yourself.
- You want browser access to just the apps people need, with controls included.
- You want your own branding and domain, and automation and recording in the same product.
- You prefer a hosted control plane, with Windows hosts that connect outward.
What the deployment looks like
Cybele's getting-started guide describes three components: a reverse gateway that faces the internet, a broker that handles authentication, and a virtualization server that creates a process for each connection and streams it to the browser. For a test, they can share one machine. The guide says that single-server setup is not recommended for production.
That layout is sensible, and gives you control over every part. It also means you own the certificates, the sizing and the upgrades. Onscryn takes the control side off your hands, and asks only for a Windows host that runs the agent.
Licensing
We do not publish Thinfinity prices because we cannot verify them, and they vary by edition and contract. Whichever you choose, Windows and your own applications still need valid licences. Settle that early, and compare total cost across licences, infrastructure and the time to run each option.

Questions.
Yes. Cybele's guide says users need an HTML5 browser with no plug-ins, and the client operating system does not matter.
